I had the Samsung 197 installed and they did close off the side and the roof vent.

When I replaced the Norcold in our old 2008 Bus I replaced the rear vent with a flat panel that I then glued a 1" piece of Styrofoam to the back. I closed up the overhead (roof) vent by about 75% so some of the heat generated by the RR could get out. The 2013 Bus has a flat plate for the rear and I again glued the Styrofoam to it but it doesn't have a roof vent so refrigeration heat is dumped inside.
