Reliability of 2011 Coachmen Mirada 34BH

Hello everyone,

Looking at purchasing the above. It's one-owner, low mileage (6,000), excellent condition, priced right. I understand that Coachmen Mirada's had a lot of problems in the past and were in the shops a lot for fixing one thing or another. Is that true of the 2011 model? If anyone has one of the above can you please comment on any issues you may have had, reliability, pros/cons of owning this particular motor home, anything we need to be aware of, etc.

Usage will be traveling all over the US, my husband and I, occasionally kids/grandkids would join us for a week. Would not be staying at rustic campgrounds or camping in the wilderness. We're brand new to motor home ownership but not to camping (used to camp in travel trailers years ago). Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Coachman Mirada

I cannot comment on the 2011 but owned a 2007 Mirada until my purchase of a 2013 Entegra Anthem. I purchased new and did not put a lot of miles on it but used a lot on the weekends. I was a drag racer and used almost every weekend running the generator 7 to 8 hours each weekend. Also would make some one week trips during the year. To be perfectly honest I did not have any major issues. Dash air had a leak and had to install freon from time to time. Power step motor went out. Replaced my self low cost item. Towed a race car trailer with a smaller trailer with golf cart behind around 5000 lbs total no problem. On our trips I would tow a Jeep wrangler. Keep in mind this is a entry level motor home and finish fabrics etc. are not top of the line. I am a fanatic on cleaning and maintenance. Also the coach was always stored inside. I think if you are a person or family that takes care of everything you own you should not have any major issues. With that said, motorhomes are like anything else you can get a good one or a bad one, same make and model. I would suggest that you get it checked out by a professional. Good luck with your purchase hope you enjoy.

I have a 2013 Coachmen Mirada 35DL which is pretty similar to your unit. The main issues I have had include a problem with the slide mechanism, a failed water pump, and an outside TV that died. I have put about 4200 miles on it since I bought it in April. It is my second Mirada, having previously owned a 2000 Coachmen Mirada 34MBS. I love my unit and am very pleased with the reliability so far.
