Remodel 2004 Fleetwood Discovery

Hello

I was seriously considering remodel the inside of our RV.

1. Take out the love chair.
2. Put in a fireplace / entertainment center in its place
3. Put a TV over the window either mounted on the wall or mount it on the
top the fireplace / entertainment center.
4. The front hole above the dash board where the old TV was put a wine
cooler in the place of the TV and make a door with frosted plexi-glass
in it.
5. In the bedroom, take out the cabinet where the old TV was setting and
mount the TV on the wall.

Questions:
1. Is this even possible?
2. Taking out the love chair will it damage the integrity of the slide.
3. Taking out the cabinet in the bedroom will this damage the
integrity of the slide.

Thoughts anyone. Help

Tim

Here is a link to TV to LCD conversions " ALL ABOUT TV TO LCD Section" and fireplace installs at bottom.
Here is a thread where someone is in the process of doing it.

Questions:
1. Is this even possible? (yes with enough time, effort and $$$)
2. Taking out the love chair will it damage the integrity of the slide. (Should not)
3. Taking out the cabinet in the bedroom will this damage the
integrity of the slide. (Should not)

Our 2003 Mandalay has had the following updates
1. Carpet replaced with wood.
2. MCD day/night shades all around.
3. TVs replaced with LCD.
4. One sofa replaced with a cabinet housing a fireplace and a TV on a lift behind the fireplace.

Unfortunately don't have pictures and the coach is in storage.

There are posts on this sight just for showing modifications that have been made to peoples rigs.

Good luck with your new coach!

I'm in the middle of doing a lot of this remodeling currently. I took out the recliner and replaced with a fireplace. This pass weekend I took out the TV in front. Still working on that part. I also took out the dinette booth. Replacing with free standing table and tub chairs. I'm doing it myself, and have not run into any issues.

Removing furniture and replacing (ex. loveseat) with other furniture (ex. entertainment center) shouldn't damage the integrity of any slides, unless the weight of the replacement furniture is a lot more than what you replaced. Even if it isn't, you should, consider the weight distribution in your newly modified RV. If you alter the balance of weight left/right, that could have effects on how it handles, and I suspect could require some adjustments to the suspension.

What kind of fireplace did you put in. My fireplace will be 47 inches long, 17 inches wide, 36 inches high. It is an entertainment center with a fireplace in it.
Thank for the info

Sounds very cool Tim.. I don't have a fireplace though? Maybe I said something above that sounded like I do?? Sorry if I did!
