Remodeling
I am thinking of adding a backsplash from the counter top up to the overhead cabinets starting from the stove over to the kitchen sink.
My question is can I do it right over the current wall or do I need to cut it out and use a different backing? I'm concerned that driving down the road is going to just damage what I'm trying to do. Any thoughts,or recommendations?
My coach is a class A pusher 2003 Expedition in case that info is needed.

I just picked up some Smart Tiles from Home Depot. I bought the Bellagio Sabbia . Will install them this weekend Lowes also has something similar called Peel & Stick Mosaics that's really nice also. Easy to do & from what I saw looks great! Check out YouTube for the Smart Tiles.

Having used the peel and stick in the past I see no problem except just make sure that the area your doing is well cleaned [stove area], that is the main problem area. Good luck and post some pictures, before and after.

Use a good tile adhesive and you shouldn't have any problems. We've been looking at a lot of 1998-2003 motor homes and they use a lot of beveled mirrors and none of them have come undone. That has to be as heavy as tile.

Went to an RV show last night to get some ideas and noticed a lot of the new models are using either peel and stick or picture of tiles on a plastic sheet. Looked good for high end coaches.

I just did this today. $4.98 a sheet and they are real glass tiles. I will grout it tomorrow. I love the look.

WE are considering using the peel-n-stick tile behind our kitchen area. Anyone have them on currently? I'm concerned that when we remove the mirror (?!) behind the stove the tiles might get too hot or greasy. But I do love the way they look. We measured and plan to get started soon. (after we get new carpet!)

We did ours last spring with the smart tiles. Cleaned the walls with tsp first. They turned out great. No issues at all so far.

I installed Smart tiles last year in my MH kitchen area. They look great. Easy to clean, , regular tile could add additional weight, smart tiles are very light. Good luck

I also installed the Smart Tiles in both the kitchen and the bath earlier this year. So far, we are very pleased with the results. I wiped the walls down with alcohol to clean them before installation. I was afraid they would fall off in the extreme 95+ deg heat we are having, but so far they are staying up. I posted the pics in another thread somewhere, but here they are again.

Looks great! I'm also thrilled with the results! I was worried about the heat also but they're hanging tough! Bought mine from Home Depot for $30 for a 6 pack & purchased 4... They're back to $43 so I'm waiting for the sale price again.
