Has anyone had any luck finding an alarm that is wireless and has more than 3000 ft capability ? What I was interested in purchasing was a unit that monitors heat and power and has the ability to warn you via pager or phone through cellular or satelite technology. The only unit I have seen on the web is limited in range and works via transmitter and dedicated reciever. Thanks for any help.

I have a friend with a big salt water aquarium and he has a computerized alarm system where he can set thresholds for various events and it will alert him via text message or beeper, etc.

I think you should look under aquarim monitors and see if any of these devices are suitable for what you need.

If you installed a thermostaticly controlled Fantastic Fan (which is 12 volt) and left a window open, it would keep the MH livable. It would get hot but still liveable, if the shore power went out. I bet it would be cheaper than a high tech system and would work even if you were three hours away.
