Remove washer dryer for more storage

We have had our rv with washer dryer for 4 years. We have used it twice. We are looking to remove it and add more storage. Has any one done this and what have you done. Please post pics if you have any. Thanks.

Yes, I removed a washer/dryer unit from two motorhomes, my previous coach and current one. I was glad to gain the extra storage space. For our fulltiming lifestyle this decision works best. I built some storage shelves in place of the washers when I sold them (sorry no pics of shelves). In both cases, my wife and I are happy with our decision to sell the Splendide units. Priced fairly, they both sold quickly.

Of course there are arguments for and against such a move. But that is not what the OP asked for.

Our unit came without them, however it is plumb so adding them in the future would be easy. Right now we enjoy the extra storage.

I had mine removed before we took possession. My wife found the storage ( in our case , three huge drawers in the galley ).

My D/W would remove me before her washer/dryer. She uses it just about every day...little loads that keep her ahead of the dirty laundry.

My DW feels the same way. It is used every day.

My last 2 had a wd and was never used. We thought we would be able to go full time. Reality check. 12 years later we've come to the conclusion that wasn't going to happen. For now it's a couple weeks at a time or an occasional long week end whenever we can. We don't have a wd in our new MH and made a nice size closet out of the space. It is plumbed and ready should something change.

I don't have a picture, but in the cabinet where the washer had been we installed a clothes rod across the top and use it as [extra] closet space for heavy jackets and "dress up" clothes (yea ... every-once-in-a-while I need to look good). \ken

Our 2003 Dolphin has the w/d in the place where a dresser would go so basically it would be just putting the framing back. Leave the pipes, drains etc in place.
