Wink Removing Ceramic tile from a class A

We have a 2004 40' Class A Winnebago Vectra with ceramic tile in the kitchen and bath area. It is difficult to clean, heavy, and cold. We would like to replace it with a nice laminate or hardwood. Has anyone removed the ceramic tile from their RV? Any issues to be aware of? At the same time we would like to replace the carpet in the living area (not the slides which lift up to close) with the same laminate or hardwood flooring. If you have done anything like this or know of someone who has I would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks

Wow that sounds like a lot of work. Most folks want ceramic tile or vinyl flooring. Would be curious to know how much work this will be. Good luck and keep us up on the project.

We had our whole coach, both front and master bedroom resurfaced in hardwood. We did not touch the ceramic tile. We put down an oriental runner in the front area. It looks absolutly georgeous. We had it done last spring by our local carpet/tile store. We have put on about 3,000 miles since we did this and have no problems.

I think the real issue will be how to get the tile removed from under the outside walls. We also have ceramic tile in the kitchen/bath area. The walls of the motorhome were installed on top of the ceramic floor. I don't know if the ceramic tile is giving structural support to the wall, but it appears that it would be difficult to get the pieces of tile from under the wall.

Hopefully, someone that has actually done this will post a solution.

The ceramic tile in our 2 year old class A was coming loose, we had it replaced with a product called "DuraCeramic" we had it replaced by Precision Painting in Bremen Indiana, not sure what they had to do to remove the old floor but it wasn't a job I wanted to tackle.
It looks great.
