I also purchased the 3300psi washer from Costco. I cut the film first pointing the nozzle directly at the surface in a zig-zag pattern, then on the second pass at an angle removes it. It does leave a thin film of glue, but it comes off without too much effort. This method is much better than a heat gun and razor blades. You must have at least 3000psi and a 0 degree nozzle.
If your paint is not already cracked and dented it will not remove paint.
Vito I'm not using the 0 degree nozzle. I'd be afraid you could damage the paint with that small of a pattern. AND it would take twice as long. I'm using the 15 degree (yellow) nozzle and it works great! I tried the green 25 degree nozzle but it just wouldn't do the job. I was hoping it would work because the pattern is so mu7ch wider and would make the job go faster but it didn't work.

Danny it was about 40-45 degrees. Not sure if warmer temps would help or not.

I agree. I suspect the temperature of the water matters more than the outside temp.

The best way to do it is to have a small fender bender and put it through insurance, you get new paint job and all.

Or better yet, have the shop back another coach with a hitch into the front of yours while it's there having a new slide topper installed. Don't even have to make a claim on my policy.

Excellent job and awesome idea, I had that stuff just below entry step small area and I used heat gun, it took forever, and the plastic razors damaged paint, fortunately small area to repaint, can't imagine doing that over whole front of coach. Thanks for sharing

Darn, just tried with 4,000 PSI and a pretty narrow tip...bounced off.
I'll try again with a zero tip tomorrow when I can see something (day light).

My right bumper needs paint anyway, so don't care too much if the paint underneath gets screwed up as it's coming off anyway during repaint.

Heck, I'll try a rotary tip...

I got my 3000 psi unit out 3 days ago and began the process of removal. I don'y have a 15 degree tip and my 25 was to wide, so i used the 0. This worked very well for removing the film. Was able to do the entire front of the coach in 2 hours. But the adhesive remained on the coach, it didn't come off with the Diamond Shield. So now the "hard job"begins of removing the adhesive. Spent an hour and a half on it two days ago and maybe removed a square foot.

I seem to remember reading there was an adhesive removal liquid specific for that purpose. It was a company that specialized in providing the tools for clear bra removal.

What are you using to remove the adhesive?

I think there are several different clear bras...I think 3M is one as well. Wonder if the water torture treatment works on one, but not on the other. I have no idea what my bumper end has on it.

I found that Xylene was the best solvent for removing the adhesive. Put it in a spray bottle and keep the surface very wet with it while scraping with plastic Razor blades. Worked for me.

Danny, have you tried 3M Adhesive Remover? It's the bomb!! I've not had to use it in this application but I've used it in the past while doing paint jobs. I bet it would work on this too.
