Replace engine air filter?
2006 36ft journey
how hard is it to replace air filter up on the left rear corner

Not familiar with your setup, but air cleaners are generally designed to be easily inspected and/or replaced.
If you're not sure if it's out of your wheel house you probably shouldn't attempt.
And there's a lot of other things that need to be done as well, so while they are in there the air cleaner would only be a few extra minutes.

My sister had the same coach, but I don't recall what type filter you have. If it's the metal canister type, clean the rubber connection joint well and then unbolt and remove. Your main goal is to not get dirt into the intake.
If it's a replaceable element, remove and wipe out the interior with a damp cloth. NEVER blow out and reuse replaceable elements in a diesel pusher. If you decide to remove the element, replace it.
Your air filter should be good for about three years max. If you're doing more than 8K-10K a year, probably should change it every two years. The filter minders (air gauge) they install on diesels are pretty useless. Change your filter by time or mileage. Air filters have a shelf life, so don't buy them on sale and store. You always replace at three years because they can absorb water and start to deteriorate without you knowing. It's just not worth going cheap on an expensive motor.

If its a cat engine c7 its not that hard and you don't need to drop the muffler just undo clamps use a small flat tool to break the rubber seals and remove about an hour job don't forget to lube rubber with soap and water before re installation go for it. and don't loosen the straps on the filter until every thing else is loose

The engine is not the problem, it's where the chassis builder puts the filter. My filter was tucked up in the left upper corner of the rear of the bus...very hard to change. I could only get one hand on it at a time and couldn't see it good without a mirror. Took two days, a couple of bungee cords and some silicone around the edges. Thank you, Freightliner.

After removing the filter, I inspect (I will use my phone's camera for tight spots) and then vacuum the cleaner box and intake tract and reinspect to ensure it's all sanno before putting the cleaned (K & N) or new filter back in. It's too easy to get dirt into the chamber while removing the old filter.
