Replace flooring
Can some one give me the price they paid to have the flooring replaced on a 38' motorhome with 3 slides and minor floor repair? I have a Georgia Boy front gas engine. I am getting quotes from dealers for approx. $3500 but I read on here and some people paid $12,000 and they did it themselves.

We recently had sheet vinyl professionally installed. Search my username for details including well under $1000.00 total cost. YMMV.

Not knowing your current sub floor condition it is difficult to say. However you can determine your total square footage of area to purchase the wood flooring and then go from there for a labor cost. Your 3,500 sounds very high. The 12,000 price seems rediculous.

We replaced the carpet and porcelain tile with Pergo laminate. Figure 1 hour of labor for each foot of length for removal and install plus any extra to repair flood damage plus the cost of the flooring. We were pleased with the result and the cost. Ha d it done at Caledonia Rv in Caledonia, NY

I went ahead and paid $3000 to have mine done. Getting rid of as much carpet as possible and putting wood floors in. Aggravates me to have to pay anyone to do anything when I have a wood shop here at the house. 7 back surgeries tends to put a damper on woodworking and put me on disability. I hope the one I had in Dec. helps. My tools have been idle for 15 years now and if this one doesn't help I think I will start selling them instead of them collecting dust.

Check out Custom RV in Red Bay Al. Brannon used to work for Tiffin and now has his own shop. We are bringing our 40' Tiffin Bus next week to have the carpet in the front replaced with tile. His reviews on line are all very good. Sounds like some paid too much to have their flooring replaced.

I forgot to mention. Our total cost up to this point is $851.00. We still plan to get the carpet in the cockpit area, main slideout, and parts of the bedroom replaced with new carpet, and will probably spend another $700.00.

We laid Allure in a bedroom and loved it. Keep in mind that there are several grades of Allure available. We used Allure Ultra, its appeared thicker. We have a quote to do our Tuscany for between 1500 & 2500. We will do it ourselves for $1000.00 . The hardest part is removing the old carpet, staples and floor prep. ed
