When we replaced carpet with sheet vinyl in the PA, the extended slide lifts up a bit then comes in, so was able to stop it just as it lifted and gave enough room to work under the edge. YMMV.

Probably, but the method depends on the make & model of the slide. Flush-floor slides typically have a lip of some sort that may be easily removable (or not), while non-flush types you can usually just reach under far enough to fit flooring in.

I have not tried this, BUT READ IT ON THE INTERWEB so its got to be true

A poster said after flush side comes up to level he added a carpeted block to the outside roof of the slide then brought the slide in another 4" this tilted the inside floor up to make floor covering easier to install. Or to change shoes from metal skies to carpet slides if going from carpet to wood/ tile.

I will keep an eye on this thread as flooring is my next project.

I have done several of these but not specifically a cc

What has worked for me is to Not cut the carpet off to close to the slide

Then start at one end and pull or Jerk the 5 or 6 in wide piece of carpet out with as many staples as possible

hope this helps

you can look under slide from outside and pull down the rubber seal to reveal the edge of carpet- or- I cut the carpet tight against the slide then I can get a pry bar under the edge and you can feel the staples lift
