Question Replacement Diesel fuel cap for 2002 National Tradewinds

Does anyone know where to purchase a replacement diesel fuel cap for my 2002 National Tradewinds class A Motorhome? It is on a Freightliner chassis with the Cat 330HP engine. It is the chrome cap with the two slots for the plastic cap key to un-screw it. Thank you forANY help!

Maybe call Freightliner factory Help and ask? They sell their replacement parts at competitive prices. 1-800-FTL-HELP and have the last 6 digits of your VIN handy.

Or is this perhaps a fancy external cap that National RV used in lieu of the factory version? I doubt if the chassis came with a chrome cap. However, the factory help line can at least tell you the size and type of the original cap.

Try a marine shop, they use them on boats. I have one on my 2005 Tropical.

Fuel Cap

I replaced mine, they are marine deck fuel caps. I surfed the net and found a nice locking fuel cap, someone was stealing fuel so both sides of the fuel tank has locking caps. I looked through my files and couldn't find where I bought it. I will look around again and see where I did.

I found it, I bought mine on Amazon, $61. Chromed, heavy brass with lock in it with two keys.

Retiredblade ref diesel Fuel Cap

Could you provide me with the part number / manufacturer of the locking cap you purchased on Amazon for your Islander? I would like to check into it. Still haven't found a replacement. National used a stainless steel (Attwood) boat deck cap on the coach and the only replacements I have been able to find have a significantly smaller thread size. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
