Replacement Windshield Wipper Blades

I need to replace the wiper blades on my MH. They are the heavy duty truck type blades that attach to a 1/2" wide hook wiper arm. These cost around $40 each. The regular duty wipers used on cars and trucks use a 3/8" wiper hook and cost under $10 each for good ones. Has anyone cut down the width of the hook so you can use the standard duty wiper blades? I know this would weaken the arm hook a little, but the blades would be easier to find and a lot cheaper.

If you have a local NAPA store they should be able to refill them. I think the cost for the two was under $15

I've tried NAPA and Car Quest, and they couldn't help me. I need a Dyna 28" blade. I'll check with CW and a Freightliner dealer next, but I am tempted to file down the hook to accommodate the standard blades. Grainger has them for $40 each plus shipping.

I purchased Anco 28" blades at my local Wal Mart. They cost just over $10.00 each. My wiper arms accommodate a 3/8" wide blade frame. They fit perfect. If I recall you can purchase a adaptor to fit the stock wiper arm. They have two tapped screws and install easily. I'll see if I can get a picture of my set-up and post it!

Thanks everyone. I found the CW coupon in the GS mag, I'll see if they have what I need in stock tomorrow. If not, you have given me some other great options.
