Replacement WINDSHIELDS???

For those of us driving motorhomes that are no longer in production, where do we go for replacement windshields? My Mandalay has a one-piece, and a TS I'm looking at has a 2-piece.

Knock on wood, everything is fine now, but what happens when that rock jumps up and hits directly? We don't have a factory to call.

Is this something that any glass company can do (doubtful), or are there specialized places (that might require a long drive with said bad windshield)?

I had my right side windshield replaced this past July and the insurance company used Duncan Systems for the replacement.

Duncan Systems sent the glass to the installer in Roswell NM 40 miles from my house....My coach is a 2005 HR and they said the glass was in stock and it was shipped across the country within 5 days.......They paid 2200 bucks & I paid 500 bucks now we are all happy again.......Until that next rock hits............

I had Grange insurance on my RV, they contracted with Duncan Systems also to change the windshield. Duncan Systems in turn found a local glass installer to do it, shipped the windshield to them for install.

About 6 months after install I was in FL and the windshield had shifted. I called Duncan systems and arranged to go to their facility near Tampa where they reset the windshield at no cost to me. Very good customer service, the shop manager was great.

OK, now I feel better. First call goes to Insurance company and let them handle things. If not, I now have Duncan Systems in my database.

Thanks, guys!

The windshields used in your motorhome is not unique to it. All the RV manufacturers use a windshield made for some other vehicle, and the glass companies carry all of them back many, many years. Duncan Systems is one that specializes in RVs, but there are plenty of others. You can Google 'RV windshield', or your insurer can make arrangements.

I helped a gentleman from down under get a windshield for his Honey and he used Glass Solutions. The windshield was in the $400 range but crating, shipping, tafiffs, etc cost $2400!

My insurance has twice paid for windshield replacement and both times Duncan supplied the glass.

Last year I developed a crack in the windshield of my 14 y/o HR Endeavor. My insurance covered it and went through Duncan. The replacement was shipped to a sub-contractor about 70 miles away, and they came to my house and had it replaced in half an hour. The whole thing took about a week. No cost to me, but I think the invoice I signed was for about $600. I didn't pay much attention, since it was other people's money (OPM is great.)
