Replacing a/c units to low profile

All,
I am starting to research for 2 new low profile a/c units. I am trying to fit my rv in my shop and my current units are my only hold up. I need to be about 3" lower and was thinking of the low profile option. One concern I have is will the new units I get work with my existing control panel. And does anyone have any experience with low profile ducted changeout that could give me some pointers? My current units are model #s 8632-8764 and 8633-8766

Got compressor? Air down the tires, roll it in.
A set of deflaters is way cheaper that two new AC units.

Depending on your door type and maybe header over the door - cut a notch wide enough tall enough, with a rubber flap for weather seal. Aircraft hangers do similar to clear the vertical tail.

I thought about deflating the tires but don't want to ruin my brand new tires. I do have a top header/ girt. There is no way of notching. Both good ideas. I was about to drop some $$ to build a rv storage next to my shop but changing the AC I think will be a lot cheaper..

deflate the tires to about 10 psi and roller in, Won't hurt nothing. air them back up after they are in the garage. no harm no foul. Just don't leave them deflated.

Being a 2001, those units are already 12 yrs old - you may get 15 yrs out of them, they could go 20, unfortunately there is no way to guess. I would call Dometic with your model #s and they'll cross those over to the low profile units - they can even equip them to work with your existing thermostat setup. They are excellent to deal with. After replacement list them on Ebay or Craigslist and you could probably get a couple hundo for them.

Our 2 lo profile Dometic units are 13.5's
They work with the 4 button thermostat and both have heat pumps
model# 620315.321 SN 91016697
model# 620315.321 SN 91016698

We dump the air bags (hold the dump button) and back he into our pole barn with 11'-10 3/4" opening. We have 2 1/2" clearance then.

Please read the installation pdf before you buy. The low profile units REQUIRE water lines INSIDE the rv walls to the bottom for drainage. Our older units just placed the water by product on the roof to find it's own way to the ground. I wanted these too, but not that badly.
