Replacing an RV Couch with Regular Furniture

For those of you who have done this--did you bolt the new couch down? If so, how did you do it?

Thanks

We used 2 La-Z-Boy recliners which we did not bolt down.

I pulled the couch/dinette of out a Raptor 5th wheel toy hauler and replaced with 2 swivel rocker recliners, Best brand. They were the petite model, ample sitting area but not over stuffed and fit nicely. The base was a metal ring and I got 2 metal "U" clamps per chair and screwed them into the floor. In retrospect, that wasn't necessary they wouldn't go far if anywhere.

I loved the change because at the end of a long day riding the bike, I could sit comfortably, swivel the chair to watch TV if I could find anything worth watching. TV was on forward wall and awkward to view from the couch.

I pulled out my sofa sleeper and replaced it with a reclining sofa. It's a wall huger that has the base that stays put but the seat moves. Any way I took 2- 2inx2in L brackets and made a Z with them. Bolted them down to the slide out (where the other sofa was bolted) The back frame rail had to be 12in from the wall for the recliners to fully extend. I slid the frame into the Z so it could not go back any further or lift off the floor. I then secured the frame from the front by bolting down a 4 in flat metal bar (with pre drilled holes) over the frame sections. The new sofa hung over the edge 2 inches more than the old one did so I also screwed eye bolts straight into the edge of the slide and added extra security with heavy duty zip ties. I also strapped the seat belts over the backs of the sofa seats. We don't use them for people but I could if needed.

Do you have a manufacturer and model for the reclining sofa? How did you get it through the door? We're looking to do the same thing with our sofa sleeper.

This is the one that fit in our coach. We had Rooms to go deliver it and set it inside the coach. I removed the old one and sold it before I set this up. This type of sofa has the removable backs.

I wonder how many residential couches will fit through the door?

We just bought two euro recliners from Bradd & Hall and plan to remove the current couch and recliner. I don't plan to bolt them down but will examine if there's a way to keep them in place.
