Replacing carpet around steering column

The carpet around my DP steering column and under brake/accelerator pedals is looking rather shabby. Wound like to replace with a rubber type surface that looks good, will hold up and is easy to clean. Has anyone done something like this, where did you get the product and any installation/ upkeep issues. Thanks!

carpet is easier to work with and covers that area better.

Amen to what Ernie just said. Look at my post for the fun I've been having.

Many coaches have carpet. Some have the black rubber bellows. Some have nothing. When you look close at the joint there maybe a grease zerk there that you can add a little grease to. There maybe one under the floor outside. I use contact cement and hot melt glue to keep the carpet in place.
