You might want to check with the motorhome manufacturer as to whether dual pane windows were optional for 2003. When we ordered our 2001 Winnebago Adventurer dual pane windows were an extra cost option. That means the standard was a single pane. If that's the case for your motorhome you could order a complete single pane window and not have to worry about how it fits in your current frame.

As a side note I would find out who the window manufacturer is and order directly from them if possible. Our 2001 Adventurer had Atwood windows. We could order directly from them at less than 1/2 of what it would cost to get them from a Winnebago dealer.

Shading the window will do 10x more in hot sun than having dual pane windows. The sealing around the edges has more to do with keeping noise out.
Been Rv'ing since 1957, have had both and will not have anything but dual pane windows. They are quieter and do have insulation value.
