I'm not sure you would want to give up your gas cook top for an induction cook top but you might want to consider it. We have a duxtop induction hot plate and we hardly ever use the gas any more. It is energy efficient, fast heat, and when you turn it off it is like gas in that there is very little residual heat in the unit. I like the fact that there is no flame to catch my pot holder or dish towel on fire or blow out and leak propane in to the coach.
You have to use the right type of pots but it works great with cast iron which I prefer anyway.
It saves on propane and is efficient enough to work with moderate sized solar systems.
You could always get a propane based portable burn just in case you want an extra burner, want to use gas, or have electrical issues.
Just something to consider.
