If your roof is EPDM...you can use a Liquid Roof or Liquid Rubber (both are made by the same company) Liquid Roof RV Roof Coating & Repair 4 Gallon - Roof Flashing - Amazon.com

Pro Guard Coatings | Pro Guard Coatingsā„¢ Manufacturer Of Liquid EPDM Coatings

I used this on my RV two seasons ago and it made a believer out of me. I used Dicor Lap Seal Chalking and Eterna Bond Tape to repair areas that needed attn before coating. Then went at the roof fearlessly. It was a WOW moment after I finished and it cured (several days of curing). Rubber curled and bubbled as it cured ...then laid flat. But I was told it would do that and expected it. 3 gallons were used on my first application and I mixed small batches (3/4 gallon at a time) Poured and spread....until i was fully coated. I allowed it to cure and returned to recoat the thin spots. The product is a miracle cure for an aging roof.... very durable and easy to wash now that I have been up on the roof 5 times in two season messing around.

Thanks for the info Gocoffeer! I think it's a EPDM roof. Not sure though. I've been told that around that time (1999) that there was a change from the old school rubber roof to EPDM.

When I did my roof the mechanic recommended self leveling sealant. You can pick it up at any RV place.

Gocoffeer,

I'm planning on recoating my roof next summer with EDPM Liquid Rubber or Dicor (not sure which yet). My only concern is I talked to Eterna Bond last year and they told me I would have adhesion problems with the EDPM coating over my Eterna Bond patches because the tape white external layer is TPO. I have several patches and assumed I would have to remove the Eterna Bond prior to re-coating. Have you noticed any problems like that with your roof.

Thanks,
WM

Wimberlay...I have not had any issues with the coating on top of the Eternabond. I have about 10 feet of the tape (4" wide) used on my roof. I applied the tape after I scrubbed the white chalky remainder off my deteriorated roof and discovered where all the trouble places were located. Then I coated over the tape too and today it is holding up well. The coating (Dicor and Liquid Roof/Rubber) both will do a great job. I do believe that their chemical make up are close. I have used a quart of the Dicor as a test before I coated the roof and it holds up well too.
