I use pop rivets to attach the two parts, since a sheet metal screw wouldn't hold as well.
On the bottom freezer drawer, I use a long and wide strip of velcro across the front.
The combination works great. Never a worry anymore.

We have a similar lock that came on our 2 door. Works great. Nicer look than Velcro or bungie; also easier to use.

I have looked long and hard for an attractive system. Currently I am using a bungee with screw eyes at top and bottom while under way. If you find a good system please post.

If you look up (total rebuild) by HARLEY 1994 he made a piece out of a long screw with a piece of plastic with a soft material so it won't scratch the finish that turns between the door's . I thought is was a great idea!

We also use a velcro strap from Home Depot wrapped around the door handles. That keeps them closed while on the road. When we get to the campground, we just unwrap it, and put it in the butter dish compartment until we pack up and hit the road again.

We hated dealing with the velcro strap, so after seeing a latch at an RV show, we ordered the LampSUS304. It is awesome. Problem solved.

If you have a French door RR the simplest system I've seen is to use a lock that will lock the drawer then put a big rubber wedge type door stop dropped in the bottom draw handle so that it blocks the upper two doors. Works every time. Keeping the bottom drawer closed is usually the easiest one to do. The best lock for the bottom draw is one that drops a pin.

The plywood is covered with the fuzzy stuff that is usually found lining basement compartments or you could go to a fabric store and get some felt. Use spray on contact cement to glue it to the wood and you are all set.
