Welcome to Kalifornia! Where actors are governors and the governors are actors!

My California Experience

Let me add one more. I was traveling south on SR 101 out of Oregon when I saw this huge garage, fort looking building in the road. When I approached I was asked If I had driven our MH from Massachusetts. When I responded in the affirmative ,the trooper asked if I had heard of the Gypsy Moths . Of course I confirmed I had. I was directed to pull into this Huge garage, shut my engine off and set the brakes because I was going to have to have a complete Gypsy Moth inspection. Being the wise guy that I am, I replied "Is this welcome to California?" She did not think this was funny and directed me to pull in. She did a complete insoetion of my rig including under the MH on a dolly. I was issued a certificate that is good for one year stating I was Gypsy Moth free. After we answered questions regarding the type of pet we had with us and the types of fruits and veggies in the fridge she let us go. I had an easier time getting into Canada. Little did I know the worst was yet to come - more then 1500 miles of having to maintain a 55 MPH speed limit on 70 MPH highways because I was towing a car. Talk about safety issues, not to mention California has some of the roughest roads in the entire country.
