We'll not so fast. On an exterior door on a house, the "hand" of a screen door is the opposite hand of the entry door because the entry door always swings to the inside of the house and the screen door always swings to the outside of the house, so it is always the opposite hand of the entry door. I didn't know we were talking about a screen door. However, on a camper, the screen door and entry door both swing to the outside of the coach and the hinges are on the same jamb, making them both the same "hand". Unless because it is a screen door, it is considered the opposite hand of the entry door on a camper, or I just woke up in a parallel universe, it is a LEFT hand door!

Kindly post a photo of the door on the coach, because a RH entry door would also be known as a suicide door. It's entirely possible that a screen door has a latch that's reversible. Photo would clear that up.

Now you say it's a screen door and not the entry door, so photo will tell us whether the screen door is a different swing. If it Opens to the front of the coach, it's a LH door. Photos, please.

Put your butt to the hinge side. If the door opens in the direction of your left arm it is LH. If a door opens in the direction of your right arm it is RH. All MH doors should be LH.

OK OK, I'll post a picture, even tho it won't change anything. It is not a suicide door, because the hinges are on the forward jam. The door opens outward, just like every RV entry door does, and has for ever. The latch is not reversible, and is clearly labeled for a RH door. The screen door is the same hand as the entry door. It is clearly a RH door, backed up by the new RH latch fits correctly, and PPLs MH parts Site, says so.

If that was true, then remember to always order RH hardware for a LH door !

The new latch you ordered, was it a right hand latch, or for a right hand door? That latch extends to the right. Could this be where the confusion is?

Ok, just went on Camping World site, if your standing inside your vehicle and the hinge is on the left it is a right hand LATCH, not a right hand door! This latch matches yours exactly.

The ebay seller advertised it for a RH door. The very next item was the same except for a LH door. That's when I came here for the L R info.
Early on in this thread, it was perdy much determined that it was a RH door, so that's what I ordered. Since then all hell broke loose,....mass confusion all the way.
I will always consider it to be a RH door, because that's the hardware that fits it, and early on someone posted it to be a RH straight from the PPL MH Parts website.

Also, early on google search diagrams plainly showed house doors to be exactly opposite RV doors.
And strate from a licensed building contractors mouth, he said a steel entry door on a commercial metal building, is exactly opposite hand of a house door, which would make it the same as an RV door,....which would make it a RH door. But use your own judgment, call it what ya like, but if would be hard to ever convince me that its a LH door.

Guess we'll never convince each other. On a commercial door the hand is figured the same as on a residential door, it doesn't matter if it swings into the room or out of it, the hand is figured the same way, back to hinge, if it swings toward your right hand it is a right hand door, opposite for a left hand door. Go on Camping World web site and you will see your same latch and an explanation on how determine what hand "latch", not what hand door it is.
