Road Assistance Question

Not sure if this has been asked before.
Im curious what roadside service the forum members are using and why they chose the particular one?
Thanks.

We looked at several before deciding on AAA Plus RV. Reason being our travel is usually in their service zones. Only had to use it one time and was very satisfied with the service. It will be a good idea to look at your travel areas and ask the different services about their coverage zones

I'd say the three most mentioned here are AAA ,Coachnet and Good Sam. The one that usually gets the most positive comments is Coachnet. I had Coachnet for many years but never had an occasion to use them.

I have Good Sam and have used them three times in the last year and was satisfied with them. This included a tow and a tire replacement on the road.

I have Coach Net. Used them once for a 120 mile tow. Very pleased. Note..... no new memberships available to CA residents.

Reason I asked, is we have had Coach-Net since 2008 and this is the first time needing them.
. Had a breakdown 10 miles from home, called the toll free number and finally got a tow around 5.
With the repair shops closed, had it towed back to the house.
Now waiting on a heavy tow to get it to the repair shop.

We had 2 break downs on this winter trip and Good Sam came thru on both. Be sure you pick a competent repair facility before you have the MH towed. I didn't in Gallup and had to have a second tow to Albuquerque to get the MH fixed after 5 days in Gallup.

When we got our first MH, we got Coach Net and transferred it from one MH to the next.
The fact that we notified the office around Noon and didn't receive the tow until a little before 5.
If we were in the middle of nowhere, I could understand. But in the San Fernando Valley and only 10 miles from home?
Sorry, just had to vent some.

Recently had an inside dual blowout, luckily no damage. Used GoodSam, was extremely happy with the service. Roadside assistance was there with new tire, and changed it within an hour. We were back on the road. Nice tip to the serviceman also.

Most ERS providers call the same contract tow truck companies, so the truck you actually see will probably be the same no matter who your service provider is.

I've been using Coach Net for years, and have been very happy with their service.

I have the roadside service as a rider on my Progressive policy, it's only an additional $75 a year. I don't know of any other roadside assisstance that cheap. Never had a problem with them in almost 5yrs. of fulltiming. We even needed a tow from Destruction Bay, Yukon Terr. to White Horse in 2011. I specifically asked for a trailer to haul my coach and not a tow, since it was 180 miles. They said no problem. I'd hate to think what that cost Pregressive, but they have a client for as long as we're on the road.

We've been using Good Sam since we started RV'ing in 2001. I really think there's not a lot of difference in any of them! They've all got their "fine print" that most folks don't read that can cause you a lot of trouble!
