Roadmaster Tire Carrier

Any thoughts on the Roadmaster hitch tire carrier? Anyone with experience with it being inserted between your MH and towed vehicle? Anyone with experience on a F53?

Thank you!

I wonder how it'd work with a 365/70 22.5 tire on a 10.5" wide rim?

I've seen this advertised. My only concern would be how low your current receiver is. If it is low the additional length that is added may result in your tow bar dragging when going up access drives for fuel or parking.

I have it on our Dutch Star. 22.5" X 8.5" Rim. Works perfectly. I can't speak to the F-53 chassis however. My spare tire carrier is in my hitch, my Demco Tow Bar attached to the Roadmaster, and I pull either a Honda Element, or a GMC Canyon. Haven't had any problem scraping or any problems AT ALL. I've used for about 6 months, and 7,000 miles. Can't say enough good things about he hitch!

Agree with hit the rhod. Mine is on Workhorse W24 chassis for over a year and about 5000 miles. No issues with my GMC Canyon dragging. I did have a drop down receiver for my Saturn Wagon and that would drag low drive ways. But it did that before the spare tire carrier too. Put the blue Ox roller wheel on the drop down and no more dragging.

Hmm, I'm interested.
Anyone with this on a Ford F-53?

Well we're going to find out... Best price was Amazon Prime. The way this month has gone I should be a B.O.A.T. ---bring out another thousand. Between tire, rim and carrier.

I already had the tire and had just purchased the carrier. Went to my local tire shop, they had a "used" rim that came off of a school bus, correct size, and correct bolt pattern (you need to check the flanges on the lug nut holes to make sure you have the correct rim). The rim looked brand new until the guy dragged it across the asphalt. Anyway, rim, mounting, and balance beads, total cost $94.80.

I had to order a rim from a Workhorse dealer $250 and pay freight $85 to my house. Bought a new Michelin thru FMCA advantage program $450 including mounting, balancing, valve stems, etc.

Well worth the peace of mind for me. A call to coach net in the event of a flat and they come out and change the tire without trying to find me a tire and potentially not able to find one.

I used a major tire service here and they had to order a tire from Baltimore. Took almost a week to get it. Don't know if this is normal or not.
