Roman Shades? and Front Window curtain.

We don't like the day/night shades for various reasons and are going to change window coverings. Has anyone installed Roman Shades and how satisfied are you with them?

Also, we want to replace the front window curtain. Any suggestions on sources?

Thanks

John

On our 2008 Southwind, we had a roller blind that soon ripped due to the cold. We hunted local hardware stores and found a roman blind that was dark in color and the width was wider/better than the original. Installed easily with the hardware that came with it. If there is a vallance around the blind you may have to remove the screws to make it easier to hang the blind. Worked really well and was quiet.

When you say "replace the front window curtain," do you mean with a new curtain or some other type of treatment?

The current one has problems and needs to go and we are open for any suggestions either way.

I just replaced the pleated wrap around window curtain with a powered MCD shade on my windshield. It is the day/night shade, (black see through for day to block sun and view from outside, and solid for nigh to block all light. The shade cost me close to $800.00 and I installed myself. I'm not sure what a roman shade is so I'll have to look it up. I did also install manual MCD shaded on the side windows of the cockpit. I have posted pictures in the owners forum under Damon ( MCD intallation)

We replaced the windshield drapes with ones that are very similar to original. Same hardware was included and attached at top. Quality is satisfactory. price was around $120. Comes in a few different sizes.

We used cellular Levolor blinds for the side windows .... work fine but need to be up for travel so they don't bang around. Not an issue ... I like maximum visibility and light while driving. I'm sure Roman shades would work fine.
