Roof Vent Motor.

Can anyone help with a replacement 12v motor,D drive for the Bathroom roof vent fan.

There seem to be a few in USA, But silly shipping costs to UK.

Does anyone know of a Chinese replacement which would do the job.

Thanks

Brand of vent? Often times the motor is just fine. I have dealt with switches, wiring, and just plane stuck lid. Never had to replace a motor. Their really stout to start with.

fan motor

Maybe you could replace it with a 12 volt computer fan. They have some that really have a high volume and most run very quiet.

If it is the factory style toy fan I wouldn't even bother it doesn't really do anything anyway.

It all works But squeals on start up. Will take it off and see if it can be cleaned.

I replaced the fan motor in my Ventline bathroom vent a couple weeks ago. The motor had seized. Be aware some of the new replacement motors have a smaller shaft than the original motor. You may have to replace the fan blades at the same time so it will work.

A few drops of WD40 or something similar will probably take care of the problem. Several years ago had an AC motor freeze up. Took the cover off, used WD40 liberally. Never had another issue.

The fan motor I replaced had no openings in the case. It was completely sealed with no way to lube the bearings.
The new motor works fine. I didn't have to cobble or modify anything.
