Rubber seal on rear slideout

Can anyone tell me how hard is it to change the rubber seal on a rear slide out on a 36' 2005 Monaco Lapalma. Can it be changed without taking out the slide out? The seal has a rip at the bottom and the previous owner filled in the ripped area with caulk. Thanks for the help.

I changed the inner seal on the front slide on my 99 Monaco LaPalma and it took about 2 hours for the install. The only difficult part is that it's hard on your fingers because you have to "finesse" it all the way around. Mine had a metal flange on the coach and the rubber seal had a slot that fit around the flange. It was a tight fit so I used a screwdriver and putty knife to help ease it into position. I found that spreading the new seal apart a little bit before trying to put it into place helped. Not sure if your bedroom slide is that much different than my main slide but hopefully this will help you. You do not need to remove the slide to install the new seal (unless your slide is radically different than mine!!).

I ordered mine from Uni-Grip in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. It's sold by the foot and I ordered 30 ft. and I believe it cost about $4 a foot plus shipping. I was able to discover the Uni-Grip part number for mine by noticing Uni-Grip's number in an email response I received from a Monaco dealer after I sent them a request for prices. I don't know if Uni-Grip can tell you the part number you need but if push comes to shove; you could probably cut a small sample from your old one and send it to them and they should be able to match it. As you can see from their catalog; there are many options that are very similar!! Good luck and let me know if I can help further.

Here is the link to their website: http://www.uni-grip.com/dealer_catalog.pdf
