RV Breakdown and getting RV home

Has anyone had a breakdown while on vacation and had to leave their RV to be repaired? How did you get the motor home back? Did the warranty allow for someone to drive it back for you? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Sorta. I had a U-Joint get bad on last years trip out west.
AS I was driving the last 100 years to my favorite secluded dry camping spot (close to the ghost town of Ironton CO) I felt a vibration and heard some squeaking.
So I get camp set up and crawled under The U-RV to find a dead U-Joint.
No Warranty on the 1994 U-RV so I do everything myself. I was about 50 miles to the nearest Truck parts store in Montrose. $48 dollars later and two hours to install and the RV was ready to leave when I wanted to.
Luckily I tow my Jeep on a trailer so I had a vehicle to chase parts in.

If you are a member of FMCA, they offer Pinch Hit Driver

15. How does FMCA’s pinch-hit driver program work?

The purpose of this program is to assist FMCA members who encounter any type of emergency that prohibits them from driving their coach while away from home. Pinch-hit drivers are listed in the "Stoppin' Spots" section of the January Directory/Member Benefits Guide issue of FMC magazine. Stoppin' Spots participants also will turn up when you search the Member Directory online. Contact the national office for additional information about how to enlist the assistance of a pinch-hit driver or to volunteer to serve in this capacity. Or, download Pinch Hit Driver form.

Good Sam Club has Standby SAMs, may be an option there too
