Nope, not a factor at all as the propane valves now have a high flow cut off valve in them and shut the flow down if a line ruptures. That's why you have to be careful when turning on a tank now. Turn it on too fast and the valve thinks there's a break in the line and shut off the flow.

It just to bad they lost every thing they owned, they were fulltimers

Or perhaps pull over at the first sign of a temperature spike beyond normal.....you know, a TMPS will give you that information... that is the concept of that unit...

I guess what you do with overheating tires / brakes is your business...

Not sure I follow, the fire started in the rear brakes? Were they going down a hill or was it a mechanical issue?

It seems the fire was in the front and looked like a gassers...

but we need to remember this is the news media and probably none of them are familiar with rv's

Back end was fully engulfed and the front end looked untouched as the coach was rolling backwards in the video. Owner said smoke was coming from the back.

TMPS???? Sorry, newbie here. What is that acronym? Most of them I can figure out.

He meant to type TPMS which is "tire pressure monitoring system". Most TPMS measure both tire pressure and tire temperature both with audio/visual alarm set points.

It's just plain foolish not to put automatic fire extinguishers in the areas that fires can start. In addition manual release remote ones for the front passenger, optionally drivers, wheels. It's cheep insurance.

Personally if I was the insurance underwriter I would require them to be installed and re-certified yearly.

When we get a coach it's the first thing to get added.

Lets see one in the front generator area, one in the front electrical compartment, one in the propane storage area, one for the Kitchen area, one for the Fridge area, one for the basement freezer area, one for the dangerous liquids storage area in the basement, one for the rear electrical compartment. one for the Battery storage compartment and extensive setup for the engine compartment!

It will add a cool $40 to 50.000,-- dollars to your coach. But I guess you already had it priced out!
And then of coarse the annual recertification that will cost a few grand at least if noting is wrong, recharging every couple of years will be much more!

I'm sure Everybody will jump at wanting to install that.......... or not.
I'll stick with a few well placed fire extinguishers !!!!!
