RV Covers

Has anyone purchased a cover for your RV when not in use? Camping World is sending out emails and snail mail about covering your RV and I was wondering how many do this.

Friend of mine had one when he got his first MH because it was stored outside storage lot. First big strong wind (wintertime) came along.....shredded! He took it off and pitched it. Out $500. YMMV

If you cover your rig, and it snows, you're not getting the cover off till the snow melts. If you go in and out of the rig while it's stored, like to take laundry back in or to outfit for the next trip, the cover is a big pia. If the wind blows and the cover mars your paint, what are you protecting and what damage is the protectant causing? For me, cover = no.

We keep our 43' coach covered at all times with an ADCO cover. The cover generally lasts 2-3 years before it dries out and the straps get brittle. Then we replace it for the cost of the product protection plan. No questions asked.

Our cover stays on no problem, even with our crazy monsoon seasons. And no, it does not scratch our paint at all.

Kinda hard to sell what you can't see!

We cover ours up every winter... no paint scratching.
It's a must have IMO

25ft. cover

We cover our 25ft. TT with a sunbrella cover. It is kinda a pain.but two people can do it. We use planty of horizontal rope and strap it underneath. Sometimes the wind wants to shift the cover. It has never scratched the paint. I use buble wrap and blue painters tape on any sharp protusions. If we get alot of snow we try to remove some. Get the cover that is right for your area of the country. Covers go on sale this time of year. No need to pay full price.

I unfortunately don't have that option and have to periodically move my MH for snow removal.

I cover ours for the winter without any problems. Yeah, it's kinda bulky getting it up on top and rolled out, but only takes about half an hour to do the job. Side zipper by the door allows easy entry.

Go by a used lot and notice how bad most of the exteriors are weathered. My guess is they were never covered in any way.

I have a 41' Mandalay 2004. We live in the California low desert with temperature reaching 120°f. What cover should I use? Will take all information I can get.
