RV Gps the best

I'm looking to get a good GPS for my RV, I have read a lot about different GPS's on amazon, but I'm not for sure what some of the things that I read makes any sense. I want a GPS to plug in, and do the GPS thing it suppose to do. not download each trip from my cell phone, I don't carry much data on my phones. I have a class A 40 ft. Don't want to turn around in a small area, and have to take my toad off to back up.

And I'm cheap, so I don't want spend $ 400.00, Thanks for your help.. Randy

I have the Garmin RV 760LMT and I love it. The 7" screen makes mounting it in a Class A much easier while still being viewable. If you put in the sizes of your RV it will try to avoid roads where you should not go. I also have the Good Sam GPS and have replace a cracked screen twice ($100 a pop and there will not be a third time) I use them both because I can't get the Garmin to give me spoken turn-by-turn directions.

I used to have a Rand McNally 7710 and hated it. When it finally died I bought the Garmin RV 770 LMT-S. It's around $369. A GPS requires a bit skill. Learn to use it. Don't just plug it in, set a destination, and expect it to do everything for you. Operator error is the biggest fault in GPS nav.

If you want cheap and good buy an android tablet with GPS sensor,$80, and install the CoPilot RV app, $50. For $130 you have a fully configurable GPS designed for RV's plus the versatility of a tablet that updates it's maps two or three times a year.

Rand has terrible maps. Garmin is the only one anything close to being as accurate as Google.

We have a Garmin 760LMT and are very happy with it. That being said, we did have a trip where it tried to put us on a road which was not fit for a motorhome. Thankfully a local came by. He said his truck wouldn't even fit on the road the GPS was sending us on and gave us directions to get back to a major road. Yes, I did contact Garmin and notified them of the problem. Lessons learned!! Don't trust your GPS as your only source to get you there!! We use the GPS as a guide, then check the maps (old school) and follow the directions given on the campgrounds website.

I just bought a new Newmar and it came with a Rand McNally GPS. It's got to be about the most expensive worthless piece of junk in the motorhome. I use a $100 Garmin I bought at Sam's. No matter what you decide to get you will have to use common sense and pay attention to what it directs you to do. They all have gremlins wandering around in their routing software. You still can't get under that 8' underpass up ahead just because the GPS says that's the route to take.
