RV history checks per vin

Notice numerus search engines for RV history reports by vin number, any recommendations of the better ones? Some advertise free but not found one truely free yet....there seems to often be different prices per site.

instaVIN

Hello.
I am new to motor homes too and I used instaVIN today for $6.99. It looks like the carproof report what we have in Canada for cars. It is much cheaper than carfax and the others I saw online. Free reports do not exist - that's what I figured out. I got 8 pages - the most are explanations what records and the meaning are. Hope that helps.

P,
Sounds good. Did the report happen to disclose the standards plus options of the particular MH/RV you were checking?

options

Hello again.
No. I can't find anything about it. It's an 1998 Four Winds Infinity. The problem is, that there merged with Damon I think to THOR and on there side are only class C models from 1998 listed. Maybe that's why the report doesn't include any options at all.
It shows me the mileage, how many owners and so on. Specs unknown. No Junk, Salvage Total Loss incidents. Title /Brands empty.
I got the carproof of my Ford Mustang I bought in February this year. It looks the same.
Maybe if you know a good dealer /car or RV he can run the VIN for you. They have most an account and can check some VIN's. I talked to my Dodge dealer today and he said he could run one or two VIN checks for me so I do not have to buy them. That's nice service I think.

You better take your Dodge dealer up on his offer. In some cases, I do not think the salemen wants to run a vin check on the RV they are trying to sale as the more they do not know the easier it is to answer questions without possibly giving truths they have found out. My salesmen on the Allure I was interested in gave me carfax Internet site so I could check out coach. Guess I should, but a build sheet would make me happy too and he does not have that. Seems he has a certain amount of basic information and that is it. I ask if coach was a one-owner coach and his comment was that all used coachs were at one time a one-owner coach. At least the vin check would tell me that.

Yes, Damon is now Thor.

Good luck.

Bill

VIN

Hello again.
We bought a Dodge Journey in July and talked about RV's - he owns a MH himself. So I gave him a call today and he offered to run some VIN's if I needed help. They not selling any MH themselves.

Carfax type of reports will not give you the options. For options contact the coach builder if possible and you should be able to get a build sheet which will give you the info as to original equipment and options included with an original dealers cost...,.

Try CarInfo2.COM. I was charged one dollar and it had more detail that Carfax. There site says that it's free but like many you end up paying $1.00

Good luck

Dick
