RV Pre-Purchase Checklist

Good Morning Black Friday, We are going to Kentucky next week to pick up an older Fleetwood DP I found a checklist to use that is somewhat incomplete in determining coach condition short of a mechanical inspection. Does anyone out there have a pre-purchase type of condition checklist that is more complete? If you do I would appreciate looking. Thank you all. mrock

I think you will find this e-book for $12.95 helpful. All kinds of checklist is one place. Downloads in no time - save to your computer - print the whole thing or just the list you need. Nothing can answer every question but I found numerous lists to be very helpful. There are lots of "good reads" here.

its not exactly brain surgeory?? Run and test every device in the entire motorhome.end of story Pretty simple.gen set S+R+T, slides, roof ac, dash ac tv,s tv switcher, any playing devices,Hydralic jacks run systenm out completely and in completely, invertwer system, all charging system all lites, LPG stove, LPG fridge, check battery charges via convetrer read out plug in to SP and make sure it transfers etc etc will need that to test inveter/converter system, check roof for sealing and leaks, check all wall outlets with a 5.00 tester available anywhere, check windows for possible seal leakage if dual pane, run micro wave and heat a galass of water, run water pump, flush toilit, run shower and make sure it drains properly
inspect tires for tread wear, even or uneven, any sidewall cracking etc etc
Do NOT break this rule!!! Dont take the owners word or sales guy for anything regarding what works or does not work!!!! I bought a 2002 allegro bus from a retired airforce officer and he lied through his teeth to me.I would have exspected more from someone like this so I trust no one

I've often wondered what the brain surgeon says. Maybe "Hey, it's not like it's inspecting a Motorhome."

I've learned a lot here, from you and others, by doing and through some pretty good books and DVDs at RVbookstore. Like everything else, it's easy when you know how. I still run through the departure checklist in the onboard system and took the time to learn how to add a few.

I'm a list user and have been all my life. Keeps me focused and from forgetting something. The ebook I linked to helped us get our personally tailored lists together.

Safe, trouble free travels to all!

I used that one when I bought my new-to-me coach in 2007. It really helped and I didn't overlook anything.

I brought along a pocket digital voice recorder (~$30 @ Radio Shack) and recorded all of the instructions the PO gave me. Then transcribed the instructions when I got home.

Nope. He says "it's not rocket science" and the rocket scientist says "Pffft, childs play"
