rv repair shops near indianpolis in

Good Afternoon,

I have a 1992 damon challenger motorhome on a P30 Chevy 454 chassis. I was driving through Indianapolis ,in on my way back to michigan when I developed some problems with the motorhome drive shaft. I can hear loud noises coming from the joint where the drive shaft meets the rear axle. Is there a repair shop that members have used in the past that is reliable in Indianapolis. Currently the motorhome is parked at a friend's property in indiana.

thanks

Jackpaul,

Search the yellow pages for a Chevrolet / GMC Heavy Duty Truck dealer. They will usually work on a GM RV chassis, but be sure to ask first. A few years back, I went to Penske Chevrolet, on the north side of Indy. They agreed to do a quick diagnosis on an ailing GM 6.5 Diesel engine, and probably would have done some work, but I elected to drive home and have the work done locally.

thanks for the information. I will do that. Based on the horror stories that I have heard regarding repair shops overcharging and not doing good work, I was wondering if any member has a preferred repair shop that they take their motor homes to.

thanks

I would suggest Greene's truck repair on Raymond St. This is on the SW side of Indy. I take all of my car work to them as I currently do not have an RV. They do suspension, and brakes on trucks and cars.

Also, check out the website just for that http://www.rvservicereviews.com
Hopefully, they have several locations to pick from in your area!
