Rv , replacing interior items
After looking at several rv's and we want to go full time as soon as our house sells. I want a diesel pusher, I will not buy new, can't afford it. If I buy a used one, can I replace the refrigerator , tv's furniture ? Are there restrictions?

Yep, no restrictions other than space and your wallet or credit card.
We took out our hide a bed and put two La Z Boy rocker/recliners in it's place.

If you are handy and capable of doing those things then go for it, if not be sure you check out someone that has done this type of work before and ask for references. Gettting it done once and right the first time will save you $ and headaches

Any and all rv furniture have been replaced at one time or another. Some require removal of a window. Good luck with your search.

How you get a new one in will depend on how big it is and how big your door or windows are.
We have no way of knowing those figures.

Best Buy probably will not install the refrigerator.
You will have to do that yourself as cabinet modifications and perhaps electrical modifications will likely be needed. There are installers who will do it for you depending on your location.
The refer might enter through the front window or the door. It will depend on the rig you buy.
This would not have to be an immediate decision most likely.
Seach for Samsung 197 in this forum to see discussions of installing a large residential refrigerator.
This may not be the size of refrigerator you contemplate. We cannot tell since you did not provide the make and model (size) of rig you own or contemplate owning.

Measure, measure, then measure again. We got a residential refrig through our door; not as big as some, but larger than the Norcold that was in it. Our refrigerator was a Summit, purchased online.

Hi Tom222,
You are in dangerous territory. If replacing a refrigerator is a hypothetical question, that is okay. If you've chosen a coach that actually needs a refer replacement, you are on a slippery slope. One always want bigger and better. This means making some cabinet changes. Once that is in the plan, the wife (and you?) will start to see other interior changes one needs to make. Before you know it, you'll be leaving the coach at a renovation service center for a total custom refit.
There are 3 things that sell a coach:
1. floor plan
2. floor plan
3. floor plan
Just as important but down the list are:
1. Will the coach carry all your stuff and you? (CCC or NCC)
2. Will the coach tow what you want to tow? (GCWR and hitch rating)
New refers are usually brought through the windshield. It sounds like a big deal, but it is not. Renovation service centers do this all the time.
Good luck with your search and post with all your Qs.

my fridge is a new dometic. flipped through receipts the previous owner provided, it documented that the fridge was too big to go through front door. the rv service shop removed passenger side window immediately next to the front door and got the fridge in. it's not a small job i would say. residential fridge could be even bigger.

There are a lot of refridgerators out there, many work well in many rv's. Most of the time, depending on motorhome you buy, the fridge will go thru the door or a drivers side window. There are lots of write-ups with pictures showing these modifications. When you buy your motorhome try and find a group for that brand, either on this board or another. That is one of best ways to get the help you need to do these mods. As to furniture, don't just limit yourself to looking at things made for rvs. Regular stick house furniture is used by many. Good luck with your plans.
