Scotts. A LOT OF WATER. A chemical called Happy Camper which is easily found on Amazon.
Empty when your black tank is above half full. Add a bucket of water or two. After emptying your black tank, empty your gray to flush the line.
We use only Dawn brand dish soap in the kitchen. Wipe out all bowls, plans and plates to keep food solids out of your gray tank
There are lots of options, tons of smelly chemicals and more folklore than a library can hold.
Have fun, be safe. Drive slower.

We have been doing this for quite a while just using water, lots of water! If you think you used enough, you didn't, just use a little more. If you are going to dump and the tank isn't full add more water; so it's almost full (not too full). If you can, flush it for about 10 minutes after that. You won't have any problem.
Also when you flush the toilet do not have the exhaust fan on; it will suck the odors out of the tank. Use the fan before and after.

I have used Happy Campers for at least the past five years. It works as advertised. We use any 2 ply toilet paper (Costco brand most of the time) and have never had an issue with our holding tanks or the sensors.

We haven't used chemicals for years. They're expensive and ineffective perfumes. Those that claim to break down solids might, if sitting in a septic system holding tank for weeks, most of us dump every 4 to 7 days.
Like suggested, use plenty of water, in particular for the "heavy duty" jobs. Even then you'll still be using a fraction of what your home toilet uses.
As an aside, our current coach has two macerator toilets, no more clumps of paper (the biggest threat to holding tank/dump function) allowing us to use low water setting, extending our capacity to about 10 days of use by two people. Drain & rinse, good for another 10 days.

Dihydrogen monoxide. Large quantities. No need to measure, just lots.

Water only, if you are getting any odor from the toilet (sewer or deodorant) you have an issue with the way the toilet is set up or operating.

I agree with most of the post. Don't dump until the tanks are at least 3/4 full. I've used "Happy Camper" and was underwhelmed. I use about 3 cap fulls of Liquid Ridex and have had no problems I also found that if you just have the wife toss the TP used for pee in a trash can it cuts down on the volume of paper in the holding tank and have zero problems with things getting plugged up when you have to dump the tanks.
Good Luck and safe travels.

Never had Any TP issues using Happy Campers. The TP goes in the hole with the rest of the product and we do not use any Special paper. "No Flushable Wipes" allowed. No odor issues regardless of temperature.

X12 for Happy Campers.... chemicals destroy the systems we dump our tanks into... at least I think they do..

Through the years... we've taken a different approach... we charge the empty tanks (black & gray) with some water and than a 1/2 cup of either laundry detergent or oxi-clean... we've noticed as we move down the road the mixture tends to heat from the road heat... and sloshes around... and always empties well...
On our final trip to home and storage... we dump the tank... charge as we mention above... and dump one final time and recharge... on the last day... I'm always amazed at how dirty the water is after 200 miles of sloshing around and no use...

Mostly water, but occasionally bleach in both gray & black tanks.

Haven't used RV chemicals for years. Cup of pine-sol from Dollar general ($1,00 a quart) occasionally. Deordorizes plus the surfactant keeps the sensors clean.
