Question Rv water pump check valve is faulty

2007 Holiday Rambler water pump check valve has malfunctioned. When the water pump is on and the service hose is disconnected water flows out of the service hose . I realize that this can be solved by putting a simple shut off valve on the service hose. The problem is that when the service hose is hooked up to the service post and the park water is shut down the water will flow back into the park water system. I can put a back flow preventer on and the water will not flow back into the park system. By doing this with a back flow preventer the water pump pressure will now flow out of the small holes in the back flow preventer and the water pump will keep pumping and if you are not in the motorhome to here the pump running it will keep pumping out water out of the small holes in the back flow preventer till the fresh water holding tank is empty.
My question is does anybody no where I can get a check valve to put on the service hose that will allow the park water to be off and the water pump on and no flow out of the service hose. Thanx Ron [The built in check valve is expensive and hard to get at]

Your water pump check valve is OK....it is internal part of pump

Your city water inlet connection check valve has failed.....stuck open/o-ring dislodged etc

Install a garden hose shutoff valve on inlet connection and then connect hose to it.
Pump On...valve closed
Pump off---using city water....valve open
Simple

City water inlet check valve is where inlet hose connects on outlet side of hose reel so can be a real PITA to R/R

Garden hose shutoff valve simplest solution

What Old Biscuit says. If a simple cleaning of the check valve in the inlet doesn't cure it, replace the inlet. It's not expensive and probably not difficult either, though sometimes they are hard to get at to remove.

The most common failure of that inlet check valve is simply a grain of sand stuck in the valve. Pushing it further open with a slim tool of some sort often lets the spec pass thru or flush out backwards and all is well again.

Until you can get it fixed, use the manual valve that Biscuit suggests.
