RV weight?

I have a 1988 Sportscoach (Shasta) MH 30 feet with a 454 Chevy...

How much does this weigh? Front and rear?
I'm looking to buy jack stand and a jack to carry the weight properly.

Thanks for helping.

You would need to take the RV to a public scale and have it weighed.

What are these scales called?
Would a 6 ton jack be sufficient or should I consider a 12 ton?

Most truck stops have scales, as do many sand & gravel yards, some moving and storage places, and places that sell bulk fertilizers.

At a guess, the front axle on that coach is probably rated at around 5500 lbs and the rear at around 14,000. If you choose jacks that exceed that by a decent safety margin, you are probably ok.

I got my first motor home weight at the dump. Many charge independent haulers by the pound. They get weighed going in and again going out.

Check www.catscales.com or http://www.publicscaleslocator.com/

Many truck stops long major freeways have sales. Costs run from $7.50 to $15.00
