Clearly puts you in a commercial situation. That is another whole can of worms opening up.

You are making money - to the IRS you are self employed. So how is it not commercial?

I could never tell from the first post if the OP was asking to give people the opportunity or asking a hypothetical question. Heck for what was offered I'd buy another RV to drive around the Boston/ Greater New England area for that. I am sure some and maybe most campgrounds wouldn't accept you with the advertising, but I am sure some would.

It will make you commercial. Thus you will need to put commercial plates on your rig. You cannot use you're current insurance, you will need to have a business level of insurance, also if you pass scales you could be subject to crossing and also all other DOT state and federal regulations including keeping log books and otjer documentation. Now some of those are a hit to your pocket book. Also you will have tax implications as well
I would run from this proposal

Mike
I just saw this thread and frankly I'm confused by all the negativity that your question has raised. I love encountered a Prevost that was wrapped in a movie trailer last year at a truck stop here in Fort Myers. I thought the wrap looked really neat so I briefly talked to them. The driver said the vehicle was wrapped once a month to advertise a different movie and he had a year contract to drive it.
Personally I don't understand why more people don't wrap their RVs just for the aesthetics- when I owned my older (98 Mountain aire) I tried to find an RV wrap company in SW Florida but before I made a decision I sold it and moved up to my current Essex
Back to your original question - I would consider wrapping my current 45' Essex for $4,000 a month in exchange for driving it 2000 miles a month if the wrap was something that I didn't consider distasteful and the person paying me let me know the limits of the area. Heck we drive 300-400 miles every other weekend for local trips anyway.
Considering I get 6.4 mpg at assuming the diesel costs $2.79/gallon the monthly diesel expenses are roughly $900 a month. There would be an oil change every other month instead of quarterly but I figure I'd have a net of $2,000/month after the expenses. The campground costs are minimal plus I'd be out on the weekend anyway. Driving 500 miles a week is only 10-16 hours a week. Insurance costs are already fixed, fuel costs are known, wear and tear on a DP is minimal and laughable and since it is an advertising wrap EVERYTHING including my storage, campground, fuel, food, maintenance, etc., becomes a tax write off, INCLUDING my monthly payment!
I don't see the downside of this, unless they wanted to wrap it to advertise tampons or Viagra but for a movie or a business all I can say is....where do I sign up?

Sorry Nana but having a vehicle wrapped does NOT make it a commercial vehicle it makes the motorhome and advertising vehicle. You are not transporting anything except personal so you do NOT need additional insurance and since the motorhome is still a motorhome you do NOT need to go to the weigh stations, nor do you need to keep DOT records, etc.
What you do gain for tax implications is the deduction of fuel, maintenance costs, food, storage, payments etc., just like any other class C corporation.
This is a PROFITABLE business proposition - not highly lucrative but profitable. The question for most people is this, "is this something I would WANT to do?" Different strokes for different folks.
