RVI Tire Patrol

Anyone have the new RVI tire patrol tpms? I am thinking of ordering it. I like that it uses a 7 inch wifi tablet and shows all tires at the same time on screen plus you can use it to level your motorhome using the level app plus it has checklist and it will sync with their toad brake system. The only thing I don't like is the batteries are not replaceable. You send in the sensors every two years to get the batteries changed. Suppose to be easy and cheap to do. The six sensor system with the tablet and wifi is $485. The 10 sensor system is $665. With the 10 sensors it also allows shows the four toad tires at the same time with the six motorhome tires on the tablet screen.

Not yet. Getting ready to order their latest 3 model, but likely won't have it installed until May at this rate.

The fact that they have to be sent back and pay a fee to replace batteries is the main issue I see.

I ordered a RVI3 brake so their sensors are a natural fit. Haven't committed to getting TPMS sensors yet.

I was considering the RVI brake system until I learned it came with a tablet. I hate that kind of package. You are stuck with a very soon to be obsolete bit of technology.

I'd much prefer using my own technology, which gets replaced every couple of years.

Shipping parts back for battery replacement would be a non starter for me. One reason is companies get bought, new owners decide to maximize revenue to pay back the purchase price and you are source of cash.

I ordered mind back in March alone with the RVI Brake3. I finally received the Tire Patrol package a little over a week ago. I didn't know about the batteries having to be sent back to be replaced.

Hi Lee.

Can you provide some particulars here? You have the rvi3? How long have you had/used it? Did you get it with the tire patrol system? What specifically didn't work, and what has rvi told you about the issues?

Thanks,

I have been using the RVi# Brake system since last January. Aside from a software problem that was quickly corrected, it has worked very reliably. I have contacted RVi several times and the customer service was excellent.

But on the downside, I ordered the Tire Patrol sensors at the same time and haven't received them yet. Dan Decker RVi Brake President) called me last week to explain what is going on, while not taking care of my frustrations yet, I'll give it a little more time. These is only because for the customer care I experienced earlier

I bought the tire patrol system and so far have not been able to get it to work correctly. Customer service has been excellent so far and I have told them I would hold off on writing a full review until they have had a chance to get mine working. Currently the command center is on its way back to the company for an upgrade. I will post a complete review after I get the updated command center back and see if that makes the system fully functional.

RVI was having some problems with sensor transmission strength and are working on sensor changes.

I expect to have a set of the newer sensors in a few weeks and will see how they work. The goal is a system that works without requiring a repeater.

They are standing behind their product and I have also refrained from writing a full review until I can review the finished product.

The RvIbrake 3 works quite well and is very easy to set up.

I received a set of the upgraded sensors and took the coach out for a test drive (with no car in tow) for about an hour with no dropped sensors.

Great. I called them middle of the week and they said they were completing their testing to fix the transmission distance issues. Said they had improved the reception/transmission and were hopeful to get the new product out the door but first to existing owners, then those with a backorders.
