RV's Not meant for fulltime living

I noticed statements in some owner's manuals for a few different motorhomes that stated something like: "Not meant for fulltime living."

Interesting... The manufacture does not think the unit will withstand the rigors of fulltime wear&tear?

Fulltiming is not physically or mentally/emotionally good? Hmmmm,,,,,, He He, Hah Hah

There are certainly many RV'ers out there fulltiming? Will fulltiming void warranties? If I stay at a hotel one day/year.. I'm no longer fulltiming?

Do some RV manufactures believe in their product and state something like: Live in here all you want!!! This unit is tough and will take it.

We love our motorhome and thank God for it.. We hope she holds up a thousand years.

After seeing so many people fulltiming in so many different types of rvs I'm convinced that if you take proper care of it you can full time in anything. And that the disclaimer by the manufactures is just a loop hole to avoid warrenty issues.

Well, RV is Recreational Vehicle. You can live in it full time if you want but the mfgr is just saying it was'nt built for full time living in it. If it were, it would probably be too heavy to drive down the road.

It all has to do with Building,Plumbing,Mechanical Codes. And the National Electric Code.

We, the public, could NEVER afford one built for fulltime living.

Some say "Not for year around use" these refer to the insulation, it's not high enough in for severe winters.
We can thank Lawyers for these kinds of statements.

Live all you want, they’ll make more.

i like the statements concerning some electrical devices installed in our rig

"NOT LIFE RATED"

my old 96 coachman had a statement about full timing and the concern for humidity build up on interior walls could cause damage

I don't worry about the R factor in my RV walls because if it's too dang cold, I'll just keep moving farther South.

I thought it was the standard RV industry comeback for any quality/longevity complaint?

The solution for insulation and plumbing freezing: just keep moving south.

My manual has 3 pages about the subject. What they are talking about is condensation and moisture damage and mold. Mainly during cold weather and talking about how to control the moisture. I camped across from a guy that did not even try to control condensation in his MH. He said that he had water running down his walls and I could see his windshield fogged up. He was headed for problems.

Many coaches built are not durable enough to hold up to the full time use. Also many of the manufacturers will not honor some warranty issues if it is known the coach is being used as such. This is why it is so important to do good homework when getting ready to go full time. Good luck to all and have fun.

I had a very reputable dealer (Dimartini) tell me that when looking at a used coach mileage wasn't nearly as important (for a deisel) as whether or not they had been lived in.

Now, after two years of half timming and now 4 months of full timming I respectfully disagree. I find that being in the coach 7x24 gives me the opportunity to do maintenance and repairs as they are needed which I wouldn't have the time to do if we only used in for weekends. However, I'm kind of a maintenance nut and a reasonably good fix it guy so I'm sure full timming in a coach which isn't properly maintained would be a problem.

I agree that the statements found in many manuals is a disclaimer to give the mfg an out if necessary... although Winnie has never given me any problems nor has my extended wty, Easy Care.
