Rvtrader.com vs RVT.com

Which one is better for selling a Class A diesel pusher? Since they are very similar it doesn't seem worth it to list on both. Thoughts? Thanks

They are definitely not the same. I've found motorhomes on RVT.com that weren't on rvtrader.com and vice versa. I look at rvtrader every day, just to check the market. Seems like there are more for sale by owner add on rvtrader.

I used both to sell. RVT was less expensive than RV Trader.
When shopping I also use both.

Found my MH on RVT. Sold my 2014 Voltage Toyhauler on Craig's list. Sold my 2012 F-350 tow vehicle on auto trader. The more places you advertise it the better your chances are.

Different sites with different pros/cons while searching. I find RVT to be quicker/easier but can't specify as many different options and search criteria. Also, RV trader seems to have more ads and BS to get through as a shopper. As a buyer/shopper I definitely check out both. As a seller I'd bit the bullet and list on both just to catch as many eyeballs as possible. I often see the same coach on both so I know many sellers and dealers do it that way.

I sold a truck camper and a 5th Wheel on RVTrader this year. Also had them listed on RVT, but never got a call from that source (all inquiries came from RV Trader post except for a few from CraigsList).

I sold my gas 2015 Class A in one week this past Spring on RVTRADER. Multiple, non-dealer calls and I received a nearly full-price offer which I happily accepted. THOUSANDS higher than the trade-in offer as one would expect.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I think RVTrader.com is the best site. Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I recently sold Class A and a Toad Pkg...

RVT.com has a free option - has some limitations but nothing to lose

RVTrader.com - paid - many time period options

iRV2.com Classifieds - Sold the toad here - Free - and decided to upgrade to contributing member

Craigslist - Free but expect some scam replies - relatively easy to spot if you are "tuned in" to the usual approaches...
- Method of pay - checks NG - I only accept CASH, Wire Transfer or PayPal for smaller purchases
- interested save it I'll pay extra
- out of area and wants it sight unseen - "agent" will pick up
- also lots of "dealers" wanting to consign or sell it for you (for a fee) I'd stay away from ALL of these - just my opinion

Keys to maximizing attention -
  1. Price it Right - NADA is a good guide but not absolute - use the other websites to research like Make, Model & +/- 1-2 yrs from your unit to get a feel for other offerings - remember asking isn't actual selling price - some sites list how long a listing has been active and any price drops. NADA is artificially inflated by dealers (IMO) It's in there interest to have prices higher
  2. Many Good photos - CLEAN Everything - Stage it - Inside, outside, storage
  3. Maintenance records!!! - IN MY OPINION THIS IS A KEY COMPONENT OF PRIVATE SALE THAT'S NOT AVAILABLE FROM DEALERS (most cases) EMPHASIZE IT WHERE YOU HAVE DOME A GOOD JOB W/ MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS
  4. Clear concise description - Std Features - Options - Custom

Go to the Google Search bar and search iRV2 for Selling MH...RV...TT...etc you will turn up lots of good tips & experiences

I recently sold my Newmar Kounty Star. The buyer found it on RVT.com. I had it posted on Craigslist, RVTrader and RVT. Received three inquiries, all from RVT. Found our new MH on Craigslist.

Keep Smiling,
Bob R
