I like a metal coach, that fiber glass stuff is like solid gasoline. There are 6 extinguishers on board, one really big one and a reefer unit too.

I agree. Few people realize a hand-held extinguisher's main purpose is to allow you to get out of danger. That cannot happen if you don't have ready access. We have 4 small extinguishers in our MH, one in bedroom, 1 in kitchen, 1 ea by driver and passenger chairs. I don't expect one to put out a fire, just give enough time to get to safety. If one does extinguish a fire great, but I'll be gone before the bottle is empty.
From my Fire Dept. days, total time for a Mobile Home fire to go from ignition to fully-engulfed is approx. 4-6 minutes. That was because of the metal skin that held the heat inside.
I wonder how the TV came on by itself? Perhaps they had the genset running and it was the cause of the fire?

Having fought fires I have 10 lb extinguishers every 10 feet or less .
It takes no time to exhaust a extinguisher and it is better to have too many than
wishing you had one.

There is a reason the fire truck is parked so far away. That way only the firefighters on the fire need SCBA's. Very toxic fumes. I have been so many car and motorhome fires I have lost count.
Also, if the propane tank is venting and on fire, we let it burn. That way we know where the gas is going. It is burning.
We showed uo to a mobile home fire one time and the owner said the propane tank was venting and burning, so he put water on it and put it out. The tamk was still venting gas and about 30 feet away his shop blew up. The gas got to the shop and another point of ignition from buring weeds.
It is a tough deal when someones property is being burned but safety is and always will be number 1.
I second the FE are just for getting out.

The second photo shows the refrig vents on the passenger side away from the fire.

The Beaver Patriot Tic's of that age had the genset on the driver's side just below the couch. This looks like the flames are concentrated there in the first photo - leaking fuel, spark, fire?

I think I'm missing something. If the fireball was on the rearview camera and it appears it's a diesel pusher, why did the fire consume the front of the coach first?
Was the driver not watching his gauges? Did the engine get hot going 73mph towing a Cherokee?
