Anyone on here in the Saint George, Utah area?? We need to get the MH safety inspected and also looking to have an oil change. Yes, it has air brakes. Any thoughts on a good outfit to do this??

Who wants the RV safety inspected? Insurance? State of Utah? Any truck stop might be able to help you, but not sure what the requirements are for your inspection.

A DOT safety inspection was recently done as part of the service at Cummins NW here in WA State.

We have friends in Utah and will be spending time in that State. How does that requirement apply to MH's registered out of state?

We did not get a certificate from Cummins but I didn't ask for one.

I've never heard of a vehicle registered in one state being required to meet the requirements of another state's inspection unless you change registration to that new state. I'd rest easy.

The reason I posted on here asking about a place for the State Inspection and Oil Change here in Saint George, Utah is because we just came off the road of full timing and bought a home. I was hoping to get some recommendations to a shop who is straight up and won't rip me off. The State of Utah currently requires Safety Inspections and in some Counties an Emissions Test. Where we are we only need the Safety Inspection in order to license our motor home in Utah. Because she has Air Brakes a normal Inspection shop won't do that.

After the first of the New Year, Utah has decided to drop the Safety Inspections, for a few bucks I have decided to license before then in order to see if the MH has any issues. For the cost of the Inspection I would be way ahead then taking it in to have it looked over by a shop that might rip me off and charge me an arm and a leg for the same process.

In looking through the State DMV website there is no places identified for Safety Inspections, especially for Vehicles with Air Brakes.

I'd ask at a truck stop or business with air brake-equipped trucks. For an oil change, you could go less than 2 hours to Las Vegas and maybe win enough to pay for an oil and lube.
