This is just my opinion, but it seems to me from reading various reports that the quality control in the Chinese tires brands is dismal. You might get a great tire for a very low price, or you might get trash. And the US distributor is just a warehouse shipper and typically doesn't provide warranty service. The risk of getting a bad tire is high, and the remedy for the problem is limited.

Some major tire brands are also having some of their tires made in Chinese factories. A few are operating their own factory in China, and others are enforcing their own quality control standards at the factory, so that good tires come off the production line. Plus you get their normal warranty support in the USA, so you have some place to go if there is a problem. To my way of thinking, that's a entirely different story than with the "no name" Chinese brands.
