Saran Wrap on Front Cap?

I'm tired of cleaning dead bugs off the front of the MH. It's a pusher, so no airflow needed. I was thinking of covering it with plastic food wrap when it's clean, then peeling it off when dirty. Any comments on the idea?

Find out what the NASCAR folks use for their tear away windshield covers. Sounds like something you are looking for.

Personally, I'm seriously considering removing my old 3M mask that looks like crap and putting on the bed liner coating. I've read on this forum that several people have done it and washing away bugs is easy.

I have not tried any kind of bed liner coating on front of MH to make bug removal easier but that seems counter-intuitive. Making something rough so bug removal is easier????? I would think smoother..........like wax or Red Max Pro #3 would work better. But you cannot argue with success. If the bed liner coating works for you, go for it...............ronspradley

Bed liner coating is a popular choice in Alaska for prevent rock chips form gravel roads, etc... I've never tried cleaning bugs off of it but I can tell you trying to wash mud and dirt is not an easy task. It never really looks clean. Mud and dirt embedded at 50 mph sure has staying power.

Has anyone actually used this product?

I typically find the time to keep the bugs washed off but sometimes my schedule wont allow it. I recently made the run from Alaska to ohio in 10 days. I collected every bug along the way. This would have been perfect for that trip if it actually works as advertised.

You could also use pallet wrapping film which you could get on ebay. Rolls are a lot longer and less money. Check the Yellow Pages you may have a packaging distributor close by that you could also purchase it from.

From 10' away you can't see the clear bra material, but up close you can & your wax will build up at the seams & create a white line. Not so bad on a white or light colored vehicle, but very noticable on a dark surface. I would not use this if the main purpose is to make it easier to remove bugs & road grime. If using it to prevent stone chips it is a great product. If there are bugs on it you can scrub it with a stronger tool than a sponge, one advantage.

I understand from those that have removed it that you will have paint issues once it's removed and in some cases repainting is needed. Cost from the factory was nearly $1500 for the product. I would never have it installed again.
