Scan Gauge D

I bought a Scan Gauge D and I really like it except when it locks up and turns off. I have called Linear Logic and they can't seem to solve my problem. I returned it to Camping World and they gave me another one, same problems with it. So On a recent trip I was able to determine as long as I drove 59 mph or less it works fine, 60 mph or above locks up and shortly turns off. Also when it locks up if I make my transmission downshift it unlocks temporarily, then right back to same scenario. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or could maybe give advice? Thanks

Check your alternator voltage. Low voltage will make it shut down...

My voltage holds steady at 13.8/13.9.

Scan Gauge

I have Scan gauge on my gas car and the Scan gauged on my Diesel. The one on my Diesel works great but I have to set to gauges up every time I restart my diesel engine. Anyone else experience this?

Sounds like a bad connection on the Diagnostic plug the Scan D plugs into, I have found the male/female pins in some cases are not the right size and I told the company that several years ago.
If you tighten the female connectors up by bending them in a little this problem will go away.

Arffman,

You can change the 12 volt source feeding the Scan D from on/off thru the key switch to 12 volts all the time your problem will go away.

My MP-8 on the diesel stays programmed even when not used for a month or so. Don't know it could stay programmed much longer but I seem to run the diesel every month.

Thanks Art, I'll give this a try and take it out for a test run. I really like having accurate readings, but there are times I would like to run over 59 mph

Mark,

The data being sent up that cad cable does not like ANY interference at all or any lost data and the higher the data speed the more demanding this requirement becomes.
I have used a straight pin and have been able to bend the female connectors so they
grip the male pins better.

I have one on my KStar and the truck. I've never experienced anything like that. Both work great.

I would also check all the connections at the ECM.
