Scan Gauge D - No Transmission Info
I have a 2010 discovery ISB Allison 3000. The coach has a digital readout at dash for trip, temp, trans temp etc. I also has a code field and when checked says 3 trans codes. I bought a scan guage d and don't get any transmission data at all. No trans temp, No trans codes? I have searched the forum to see if it is working correctly or if I need to do something to read trans temp and retrieve codes? Thanks for the help. Yall have never let me down!! JD

I don't know aboout the codes but on mine the transmission temp under in or as TFT.

I don't know about the Diesel version but I had a gas version. I had to program the TFT function into it. Check your manual.

On page 19 of my user manual (ScanGuage D) are instructions for DTC codes.

Not all units will report transmission temp to scangauge. TFT will be there, but no display of temp.

It is a FACT that the SG II (for gassers) cannot read the TFT for the 6 speed Allisons used a on many Workhorse chassis. LL could only "crack the code" for the language used by the 5 speed 1000 and 2000 series Allisons.
I'm GUESSING that all the 3000MH and 4000MH Allisons are six speed trannys, so it is likely the SG-D can't display the TFT for them either.

My Scan Gauge does not read the trans temp from my Allison 2002, MH2000 5 speed. Tried many times with Scan Gauge engineers but no luck. If anyone with a MH2000 gets the transmission temp please let me know.

Must be because yours is a diesel, because there are 2000 series 5 speed GASSERS that do get TFT on their SG II device.
Is yours a SG-D or a SG II ???

I would call Scan Gauge. Even tho they couldn't help me the engineering staff is very helpful. I'll back out of this post as I don't want to hijack the OP's question.

A VMSpc will get readings for the transmission. Will even tell you what gear it is in. Plus trans temp.
And all kinds of engine info

My MH3000 will report TFT and what gear I'm in. I had to program in the gear code but it has always gave me the Trans temp right out of the box. Talk to the engineers at Scan gauge they can walk you through it. The programming is simple.
