I've had a ScanGauge D for over 3 years, (15,000+ miles), and I've NEVER had to "reset the readouts".
Call Linear Logic, (1-888-433-5664) and ask them how to fix yours.

It comes with a cable that has the big plug on one end that connects to the computer diagnostic port under the dash. The other end has a phone-type connector that plugs into either the end or rear of the ScanGuage. I drilled a hole in the dash panel directly behind where the rear connection is, brought the cable through the dash and used the velcro that came with the unit to stick it to the dash. I rolled up the excess cable behind the dash. Makes a really clean installation!

Does the OBD cable provide power or is there another wire/cable for power? Thanks Joe!

No separate power required!
